Shingo Nakamura’s Masterful Production Shines in New Album ‘Solace’ on Monstercat Silk
Catch Shingo Nakamura Performing ‘Solace’ Live at Elsewhere in Brooklyn on October 10th
October 8th, 2024 — Renowned melodic house producer Shingo Nakamura unveils his much-anticipated studio album Solace today on Monstercat Silk, further solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in the genre.
Having transcended his status as Japan’s top melodic house producer, Shingo has made waves in North America, headlining sold-out shows and earning significant support from SiriusXM Chill, where he ranked as the third most-played artist in 2023. His music has also been featured in Billboard and Forbes. As part of the Solace album release, Shingo has sold out his October 10th performance at Elsewhere in Brooklyn and is gearing up for his largest headline show to date at Audio in San Francisco on November 9th.
Shingo’s digital presence is equally impactful, with millions of views on his ‘Best of Shingo Nakamura’ series and live DJ sets. His tracks have received praise from industry icons like Armin Van Buuren on A State of Trance and Above & Beyond on Group Therapy.
Following the release of his album Glow during the pandemic, Shingo returned to live performances, playing shows in Japan alongside artists like P.O.S, Marsh, Spencer Brown, and Qrion. He also secured spots at major European festivals like ADE and Tomorrowland. His return to live touring in the U.S. saw sold-out shows in cities like Portland, Boston, San Francisco, and Seattle, re-igniting his connection with fans. The album Solace captures the essence of those experiences, aiming to create unforgettable memories during his live performances.
The 14-track album, featuring previously released hits such as “Prism,” “Come Closer” (the second-most played song on SiriusXM Chill in 2023), and “Lifeforce” with Grammy-nominated producer BT, blends Shingo’s signature piano melodies with atmospheric and rhythmic layers. Each track narrates life experiences through emotive and cathartic journeys, reflecting his mastery of melodic, organic, and progressive house. The title track, “Solace,” showcases Nina Carr’s ethereal vocals, exploring themes of vulnerability, love, and freedom, encouraging listeners to find comfort in uncertainty. Collaborations with artists like Jordin Post, LAR, Hausman, and more further enrich the album’s diverse sonic textures.
Shingo reflects on Solace: “This was my first time making music outside of Japan. I collaborated with artists in LA, Seattle, and BT in DC, blending Japanese and American influences for a global sonic experience. I hope this album accompanies listeners on their journeys, bringing solace along the way.”
Fans can catch Shingo live at Audio in San Francisco on November 9th, and as direct support for SABAI at Stereo Live in Dallas, The Showbox in Seattle, and 45 East in Portland. He will also perform a special B2B set with Le Youth in Salt Lake City on December 20th. Tickets are available now.
