With the release of his violent remix of D-legendary Devil’s hard trance classic “Dance With The Devil (The 6th Gate),” techno king Reinier Zonneveld ushers in 2023 in monster fashion.
Reinier cranks up the techno a level and delivers one of his fastest, roughest tunes yet, toeing the line between techno and hardcore. He keeps all the delights of the original, including the frantic, distorted bleepy riff and the campy, spooky spoken voice that puts to mind old video games and fantasy movies, and shoots a rocket up them.
The dramatic synthesizers from the original progressively create an emotional vibe as the tune progresses via galloping bass and pulsating offbeat bass. It’s a brutally punishing composition that beautifully updates a vibrant period in dance music history that is now ready to welcome new generations with its ferocious intensity.
Reinier will go on a tour of Australia at the beginning of this year, performing among other events at the famed Sidney Myer Music Bowl on February 19. After playing highlights in 2022, including an 11-hour solo set at his sold-out Live NOW event, where he was the only artist on the roster, he will play every major festival in the US, Europe, South America, and beyond this summer. His Filth On Acid record company is still doing a roaring business, backing both the biggest names in the genre and up-and-comers like Carl Cox with a jam-packed release schedule for the upcoming year.
‘Dance With The Devil’ is expected to be another blockbuster for him, following the release of ‘Oldskool,’ HI-LO collaborations ‘Samsara and ‘Nirvana,’ and his enormous remix of Mau P’s ‘Drugs From Amsterdam. On January 27, Beatport will be the only place to purchase Reinier’s remix of “Dance With The Devil,” and on February 10 all other platforms will carry it.
